My usual shtick on here is to hit upon a topic and then lead in to recapping the action from last week's bowling. Although several ideas were coming to my head, I didn't have that one great idea that I was going to roll with. Then last night happened.
Sunday is one of my two days when I can get in a good sleep for the week. With that, the dream machine has more time to work with also. So in this dream, I show up for my Wednesday Night league. On this night though, there was a league before us. One of the bowlers said, "you do not want to be on lanes nine and ten". I asked why, all I could get out of him was a disgusted head shake. Of course as so happens in dreams, the nightmare scenario played out. Our team was on Lanes nine and ten. What could possibly be so bad? Well, upon looking down at the pins, there was TWENTY ONE PINS. Two extra rows of pins behind the regular ten. In order to accomplish this the ball return had shrunk where it could only hold four balls. Plus the approach had been shortened. For some reason only our lanes had 21 pins.
I threw one ball. I missed the head pin, left 12 pins up, pried my ball from the ball return and called it a night. I told my team that they may as well use a blind as it was going to be more helpful than me. My wife told me I had to finish my frame. I take my other ball and literally threw it down the lane in disgust. Trying to hunt down Don to express my disgust, I see him down feverishly working on the last six lanes to get them back to standard lanes. On the bright side, the tables and chairs behind the lanes were brand new.
Then as usually happens when there is five dogs in the bedroom, one of them woke me up from my dream.
Now that I got that out of my system, onto to the league recaps, from lanes with ten pins.

Notes:
A big thank you to all that took time to read this blog so far. According to my counter, there was over 1000 hits on my blog last week. Keep in mind my Faribault Lakers blogs averaged somewhere around 130 hits.
For those of you that are reading this blog and may not be on top of how handicap works, it's a system put in so that bowlers of varying averages are able to competitively bowl against each other. Every league has its own handicap system. That is why you see leagues with better bowlers such as the Tuesday Night Merchant League have a handicap system where lower average bowlers can roll 700's with handicap where as other leagues a 700 series with handicap meant you had a huge night.
Don't forget that next Saturday is a huge day at Basher's. Santa will be in the house. Will he actually bowl? Maybe, maybe not, but he'll be on hand to see the kids. The Vikings also will be playing at Noon that day. So make it a family day with the kids bowling while the parents root on the Vikings. At 8pm the adults take center stage for Moonlight Bowling, please make advance reservations if possible so that there is some head count and Faribowl will know how many lanes they need to prepare for the night. And be sure to bust out your best Christmas Sweater. It should be a fun day all around at Basher's.
Thanks once again for reading. If you have anything you'd like to add to the blog or have any recommendations, please comment below or email me at Kevinluckow@hotmail.com.
Until next week in the words of the late Don McComas, Good Luck and Good Shooting.
